「英文の先生たちはどんな研究をしているの？」
このシリーズでは英語英文学科所属の先生方それぞれの最近の著書や研究、興味のあることについてご紹介していきます。
今回はRamsey先生のご研究と業績について紹介します。
第9回：David S. RAMSEY教授
As a cultural historian, I share something with Doraemon and Nobi-kun: I have a time machine and a dokodemo door that takes me to different time periods and to different places, often far away. People commonly experience this sense of travel through time and space when reading a book or watching a movie. Literary and cultural scholars enjoy this on a daily basis.
Currently I am researching about traditional Native American stories, often called “myths.” With a particular tribe or culture, these stories are part of their identity, cultural history, and traditional religions going back thousands of years. This is the beginning of American literature, and our students enjoy reading, learning about, and sharing their ideas on some of these stories.
