International Communication and Community Development Conference November 16-17th 2019｜Robert Waring

Notre Dame Seishin University English Deparment hosted the "International Communication and Community Development" Conference on November 16th and 17th 2019 in Joseph Hall. 165 attendees (including NDSU students) listened to lectures about intercultural communication, multiculturalism, global issues, and many other topics over the two days.
The Keynote Speaker was Miki Sugimura from Sophia University who talked about "International Higher Education for Sustainable Development". The Featured Speakers were Kathryn Tanaka, Joseph Shaules and Stephen Ryan who all gave fascinating speeches. The participants came from all over Japan and internationally.
The English Department would like to thank the Okayama Visitors and Convention Association (岡山観光コンベンション協会, for a generous grant. We would also like to thank the JALT Intercultural Communication in Language Education Sig, JALT's Global Issues Sig, SIETAR Japan and Okayama JALT for their kind help and sponsorship.
The English Department aims to have the second conference in October 2020.
