Dr Rob Waring was invited to give two keynote talks by the Chungnam Board of Education in Gongju City in Chungnam province South Korea on February 24 and 25 2015. The talks were given on behalf of the Extensive Reading Association (www.erfoundation.org) and the Korean English Extensive Reading Association (www.keera.or.kr) at the Chungnam Institute for Teacher Training near Gongju National University. The first talk was to 350 middle school and high school teachers, and the second was to 400 elementary school teachers. The talks were about why Korean students should be reading easy books rather than difficult one - a principle called Extensive Reading. Dr Waring explained the reasons all students should do Extensive Reading and showed how teachers can set up and manage an Extensive Reading program.
