設立目的

この会は、アメリカ、ヨーロッパ、イスラエルを中心としたユダヤ系作家の文学作品を研究することを目的とします。ユダヤ系作家が描く文学作品―文化のあらゆる要素を含む総合芸術―を通じて、ユダヤという長い文化伝統に培われた精神世界から多くを学びたいと考えます。海外の関係機関にも積極的に働きかけ、知的・人的な交流を盛んにし、新たな文化の芽を日本に育てたいという趣旨でこの会を発足しました。本会はあくまでも非政治的、非宗教的、非営利的な会であることを最初に明記いたします。

The Jewish Literary Society of Japan is dedicated to studying the works of Jewish writers mainly from the US, Europe, and Israel. The literature of the Jews is said to be a composite art with all elements of culture. We hope to learn the mental, cultural and literary worlds that the Jews have developed over their long history. The Society is a vehicle for the exchange of new ideas and in this field and encourages communication with organizations in overseas countries. We declare that this Association is free of any political, religious, or commercial purposes.

活動

この目的を達成するために、研究会や文化講演会を定期的に催します。また、ニュース・レターや機関誌も発行します。

In order to attain the above aim, we have instigated some programs, including workshops and lectures. We also publish a quarterly newsletter and Schlemiel, an annual journal.

会員

この会は、正会員及び準会員から成り、入会希望者には、入会申込書に添えて、入会金及び会費を提出していただきます。

This association consists of regular and associate members. Application may be made by filling out the application form and paying the admission and membership fees.

組織

この会は、最高議決機関として会員参加による総会を開き、この総会で決定した事項を執行する機関として、顧問、会長、事務局長、編集代表、会計、その他の構成員から成る理事会を置きます。

This Society holds general meetings where all decisions are made. The executive committee consists of Advisor, President, Head of the Office, Editor, Accountant, and other executive members.
